Horse-racing

We sit in the gallery and watch the horse race. He looks at me and asks me which horse would win. I love horses. I watch them gallop gracefully in the arena. Each jockey wanting to cover that extra distance to get ahead… Spotted horses, brown horses, gray horses, white horses… and they keep running. They jump over the hurdles, remember the sounds of the whips and keep running. The race is over. We stand up and clap. He says, you didn’t answer me. I turn towards him, lean over, kiss him and say, “I don’t know about horses, but the one who can run wild with me will win”.
